Purpose of the Forum
The International Forum for Planners assembles resources to provide a structure for discourse and
learning about international planning issues and opportunities.  The Forum sponsors lunchtime
lectures on a variety of international topics.

Certificates
Student can obtain the following certificates in conjunction with a Masters in Regional Planning:

Foreign Language Groups
Within the City and Regional Planning Department and campus wide, there are a number of foreign
language conversation groups. 

  • French: Conversation Hour, Thursdays at 5pm at Linda’s, 203 E. Franklin St
  • German: Kaffeestunde, Mondays at 7pm, Carribou Coffee, 110 W, Franklin St
  • German: Teestunde, Thursdays at 7:30pm, Cup a Joe, 1129 Weaver Dairy Rd,
    (sponsored by Carolina Kinder)
  • German: Undergraduate German Club Activities
  • Spanish: Informal DCRP Spanish Conversation group; meets weekly. Contact: Heather Deutsch
  • Spanish: “Una Tertulia Española”, Spanish Conversation table, every Wednesday in Lenoir,
    by the café, 5:00-6:00, open to students of the Spanish language.
  • Portuguese: ”Bate-Papo” every Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 at Panera Bread, 213 W. Franklin Street.
