Carolina Planning Journal

Bridging Planning Theory and Practice
for over Thirty Years


Carolina Planning Journal, the oldest student-run planning publication in the country, is published once a year by the Department of City and Regional Planning, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Articles selected for the journal are written by professionals and academics, covering a wide range of topics relevant to today’s planning challenges. Past issues have highlighted information on emergency preparedness in disadvantaged com-munities, smart growth in rural America, building healthy communities, and resilient cities.
