Financial Assistance
There are several research and teaching assistantships available to full-time students entering the transportation planning program. The assistantships typically pay student stipends, in-state tuition and health insurance. The recipients of the assistantships are eligible for tuition waivers from the UNC Department of City and Regional Planning. The assistantships provide students with the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sponsored research projects under the guidance of transportation faculty.
Students may also receive funding through work on research projects with the following research centers:
- UNC Institute for the Environment - UNC's Institute for the Environment is an interdisciplinary center to promote innovative approaches to the study of the environment.
