Welcome to Carolina Transportation Program
The Carolina Transportation Program is an interdisciplinary research and education program. Our program focuses on the study of transportation planning, transit, non-motorized transportation, and land use patterns, and their impacts on health, environment, energy and economic development at local, regional, national, and global scale.

- CTP Awards Two Pilot Grants to John Pickles and Brian Morton. Click here for further information on their research and the upcoming April 15, 2010 deadline for the next round of applications.
- Brown Bag Seminar: "Overseas Work: The Highs and Lows," presented by Bill Barlow. The seminar will be held Wednesday, January 29th, 2010 from 12:30 to 2pm in New East Building, Room 102. Click here for more information on Mr. Barlow and the seminar.
- Lindsay Maurer, 2011 MCRP Candidate and Transportation/Land-Use Specialization, received two awards for her work in transportation planning. - On November 20, Nat Grier, Senior Associate with Martin/Alexiou/Bryson presented his firm's work on Climate Action Plans.
- On November 13, Audrey Bowerman, Transport for London Transportation Planner presented on the challenges of Land Use and Transportation Planning.
- On Oct. 9 Dr. Barbara Phillips of the University of Kentucky gave a talk on "Sleepiness: The Case for Public Transportation to Promote Public Health."
- Noreen Mcdonald has been awarded a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Grant. This project is a colloboration between the Department of City & Regional Planning and the National Center for Safe Routes to School. The grant will fund development of a marketing campaign to encourage parents to let their children walk to school.
- CTP Faculty to collaborate with the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Center to evaluate SOPARC.
